Welcome to the seventh edition of our “In The City: Focus on” series. This time round we would like to introduce Philip Bader, who also appears on our In The City compilation. Philip Bader started producing his own music with Perry Roden on Monika Kruse’s Label Electric Avenue, and followed that up with successful releases on Kindisch, Saved, Stil vor Talent amongst others. Philip’s productions are characterized by his deep minimalistic Berlin style techno and his signature creative, and smartly placed, vocals. Put your headphones on and turn up the volume now:
first tell us how did you get in contact with ‘In The City #3’?
I am a friend of Tiefschwarz and I like the music they present on Souvenir. They ask me for a track and they felt in love with “Ready”. Also a lot of my friends are on the ‘In The City #3’. I am really happy to be a part of this cool project.
Favorite city you’ve visited?
There is not only one. I like Paris. Also I fell in love with Rome and Mexico City is awesome. But the best food I ate in Bologna.
Where is your favorite place in Berlin?
Haha. I love the Kater Holzig. Also I really like the Sisyphos and the Wilde Renate and of course the Berghain club. But my really favorite place is my balcoy.
How could you define you track “Ready”? What is it about?
It’s a hypnotic techhouse track. I play with the vocals. I think its a bomb for the dancfloor. Haha
